Our Course Structure:
Each session is designed to progressively build upon the last to create a holistic, dynamic, and transformative educational experience that prepares each student to thrive as a confident, skilled, and effective Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor. This format has evolved out of our own experience certifying a diverse population of YTT students and modeling evidence-based rhythms for education that have been proven to produce consistent results in certification programs.
We aim to engage the whole person throughout the learning process to empower our students to embody (body, mind, heart, and spirit) all they are learning. Our vision is to support each student through their journey as they transition from being a passionate Yoga practitioner to becoming an effective, professional Yoga teacher who leads from a place of authenticity from the core of their being. This shift requires knowledge, modeling, practice, encouragement, and constructive feedback within a safe, non-judgmental learning community dedicated to discovery and growth as a lifelong adventure.
About the learning cadence:
YTT Content Sessions will be dedicated to progressively covering new course material with opportunities to put what you are learning into practice with instructor feedback and Q & A.
YTT Teaching Practicum Sessions will be dedicated to peer teaching practice in small groups with instructor feedback and Q & A. Teaching practicum is essential to refine skills and gain confidence. Students are encouraged to attend all the workshops, but they are required to attend a minimum of 5 practicum sessions to graduate.
Certification Requirements and Deadlines: Most students can complete their certification within the course meeting schedule or just a few weeks after those sessions conclude. However, students have 12 months from the start of the course to complete all of the components of certification. For those who need more time, extension options are available for up to three years from their initial start date. (Please note: additional fees apply to extend deadlines.)
* NOTE: All online classroom sessions will be recorded for play-back to aid those who may miss a class session and enhance the learning experience. Students will have lifetime access to all online course content and materials.
We understand that life can be unpredictable. At the same time, we are committed to honoring the accreditation guidelines of the Yoga Alliance and helping our students honor the investment and commitment they are making to themselves when they register for this course.
