Now more than ever, people are looking for effective ways to process stress and trauma while tending to their body, mind, heart, and spirit. Make the difference only you can make as a Certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher!
Trauma-Informed (TI) Yoga is a evidence-based, person centered, healing focused approach to traditional Yoga that takes into account the neurological, biological, social, and spiritual effects of chronic stress and trauma and facilitates a Yoga practice that leads to increased positive embodiment, mindful awareness, self-regulation and agency, sensory integration, improved health, and sense of increasing wellbeing as a whole human being.

Whether you choose the Hybrid or Online Only YTT path, the Pointe of Grace Yoga Institute offers the opportunity to have a distinctly faith-based YTT experience by completing your personal practice hours with Christ-Centered Yoga Worship offered throughout the course Live via Zoom or On-Demand.
PLUS, you will have the option to join the M6:8 Warrior Group - a private message group rooted in a commitment to Do Justice, Love Kindness, and Walk Humbly with God (Micah 6:8) throughout the YTT journey and beyond. This group exists to support you throughout your YTT experience as we seek to create a safe and confidential place to build one another up, celebrate one another's triumphs, help one another dispel discouragement, and pray for one through the inevitable twists and turns of life.
Start your journey with the 3 Day - YOGAELL 2025: United by Love, Flourishing by Grace - Christ-Centered Yoga and Wellness! This retreat will be offered from January 17-19, 2025 at the Warren Willis United Methodist Retreat Center located in Fruitland Park, Florida.
This IN-PERSON RETREAT can be bundled with our ONLINE Yoga Teacher Training as a way of embarking on your journey from a place of spiritual grounding, inner connection, and personal renewal so that you are well prepared to get the most out of your YTT course while getting to know some of those who will be a part of your cohort.
Following the retreat, you will join the other online students to complete your course content. However, by attending the retreat, you have completed 20 hours of personal practice and elective training, thus reducing the total time you have to dedicate thereafter to completing the other components for graduation.
We also offer two In-Person and Remote learning opportunties, weaving together the benefits of Real-Time, Live Yoga Teacher Training with Mentorship, Peer Teaching Opportunities, Weekly Yoga Classes, and On-Demand Learning Resources to help you systematically build your knowledge and practical skills so that you are well equipped to thrive as a newly certified Yoga Teacher.

With the spike in chronic stress and trauma that all human beings are exposed to in our modern cultures, courses that follow the Yoga Alliance curriculum guidelines must include at least a cursory overview of what trauma is, it's ramifications, and key points to be aware of when teaching Yoga to help create a welcoming space for those who are healing from acute or chronic stress, or trauma.
This course will go well beyond a cursory overview of chronic stress and trauma.
In addition to being an E-500 RYT and seasoned Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, Rev. Lenora Rousseau, the Course Developer and Lead Instructor, is also an Certified Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Coach, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Coach, Certified Spiritual Director, and National Board Certified trained Behavioral Health and Wellness Coach. Lenora is also in the process of completing a Masters in Social Work with the aim of being a Licensed Clinical Social Work, specializing in the Military and Trauma Therapy.
This course integrates the essentials of traditional, Yoga Alliance approved Yoga teacher training with elements of Lenora's specialized education in the areas of applied psychology and behavioral science in order to create a robust and dynamic learning environment in which students gain a much deeper understanding regarding the impacts of chronic stress and trauma on the body, mind, and spirit, as well as the ways Yoga can specifically help to aid in the recovery process.
By the end of this course, you will understand how chronic distress and trauma impact the whole human being, how Yoga aids in the healing and recovery process, and how to effectively teach Yoga so that your classes and offerings create a safe and healing space where positive change and sustainable transformation can occur for all those you serve.
YES! Poine of Grace Yoga Institute is a RYS (Registered Yoga School) of the Yoga Alliance and our 200 Hour TICYT is an accredited RYT course. Upon graduation, you will have the option to register and become an RYT 200 member of the Yoga Alliance. If you have questions or concerns about this process, please contact us.
Yes! If you would like to emmerse yourself in additional learning opportunties to egnage with the material OR to make up a missed session, you are welcome to attend any YTT sessions that work with your schedule, at no additional charge.
If you would like to complete this course within 20 weeks, you need to dedicate an average of 10 hours per week to attending YTT sessions, completing any reading and homework assignments, logging your personal practice hours, and submitting the other graduation requirements inclduing the final exam, teaching practicum hours, and demo.
However, you will have up to 12 months from the start of the course to complete all the graduation requirements. If you would prefer to take all 12 months, you simply need to make sure that you are carving out the time necessary to attend all the YTT sessions and complete the homework assignments during the first 20 weeks (approximately 4-5 hours per week), then managing the components of gradation at a pace that best suits your scheduling needs.
